Founded in Brooklyn

JHS was born from a family's promise: to build a place where every person is seen, supported, and celebrated.

2014

Expanded programs

Launched day habilitation, community habilitation, and self-direction services across NYC.

2019

10 years strong

Grew our team of specialists, coordinators, and direct support professionals to serve hundreds of families.

Michelle D. Robinson

Chief Executive Officer

Michelle D. Robinson serves as the CEO of Jewel Human Services, guiding the organization in its mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead meaningful, independent lives. With a rich background in nonprofit leadership and human services, she is dedicated to providing person-centered care, promoting organizational excellence, and building strong partnerships that enhance the communities JHS serves.

Under Michelle's leadership, Jewel Human Services continues to expand its opportunities to foster inclusion, independence, and self-determination, all while upholding the highest standards of quality, integrity, and compassionate care.

Devon Parkes, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Devon Parkes, CPA, serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Jewel Human Services. Bringing over 25 years of expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial management, he offers strategic financial guidance to foster the organization's growth, ensure accountability, and promote long-term sustainability.

Assistant Director of Programs

Allison Nelson, L.M.S.W., serves as the Assistant Director of Programs at Jewel Human Services. With nearly three decades of leadership in mental health, behavioral health, and developmental disabilities, she manages OPWDD-funded programs. She is dedicated to person-centered care, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving quality improvements, and promoting organizational excellence.

Hyacinth McPherson, MPA

Human Resources Director

Hyacinth J. McPherson, MPA, is the Human Resources Director at Jewel Human Services, bringing more than 30 years of experience in disability services and organizational leadership. She provides strategic leadership in human resources, regulatory compliance, policy development, workforce planning, and employee development, helping ensure that the organization maintains high standards of service and operational excellence.

Ervin Francis

Board Treasurer

Ervin Francis is an accomplished finance executive and Certified Financial Services professional with decades of experience in accounting, auditing, financial management, and nonprofit leadership. As Board Treasurer of Jewel Human Services, he provides financial oversight and strategic guidance that supports the organization's long-term stability and mission.

Fazia Rahaman

Fazia Rahaman is a retired Special Education Teacher with over 30 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities. As Board Secretary of Jewel Human Services, she demonstrates a lifelong dedication to education, inclusion, and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Elvira Jacobs, a licensed social worker with decades of experience, has served individuals, families, and communities through public service and nonprofit leadership. She offers valuable guidance as a Board Member of Jewel Human Services and supports its dedication to compassionate, person-centered care.

Wayne Clarke

Board Member

Wayne Clarke is a community leader, nonprofit co-founder, and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. As Co-Founder of My Time Inc., he has dedicated his career to supporting caregivers, strengthening communities, and promoting inclusion through leadership, advocacy, and service.
